PETER HORNCASTLE

Managing Director

A Business Psychologist and qualified Executive Coach, Peter has over 25 years’ experience working in leadership assessment and development. He founded Deep C in 2003 and has since consulted on leadership and talent issues for a wide range of FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 companies. He has worked internationally as a leadership coach, consultant and facilitator in North and Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as Asia Pacific.

Peter is subject matter expert for Deep C’s ‘Developing Business Leaders’ line of business, including executive coaching. His coaching clients have included board, executive and senior leaders, MDs and General Managers, functional heads and specialist professionals across many business sectors and geographies. Client organisations have included Cisco, Salesforce, CA Technologies, EADS, CDK, TE Connectivity, GP Bullhound, Shell, Rexam, Talaris, Kronos, McBride and Orange.

Peter Horncastle

His early career in Business Psychology saw Peter leading various high-profile projects, including the selection and assessment of Britain’s first astronaut, Helen Sharman. He was the first UK psychologist to conduct participant observation work ‘on the beat’ with the UK police service and went on to lead an evaluation of government proposals for introducing performance-related pay in the UK police service. Before founding Deep C, his career spanned a number of international consulting firms, specialising in Business Psychology, strategic HR and organisational change. Benefitting from having profit responsibility early in his career, Peter has led teams and consulting businesses in a variety of contexts, including start-ups, turnaround and more mature business environments.

After obtaining an honours degree in Psychology and a Masters’ degree in Occupational and Organisational Psychology, Peter was awarded Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow status by The British Psychological Society (BPS) in 1989.

He has since gained a postgraduate Certificate in Coaching from The Centre for Coaching in London (2009), a Diploma in Hypnotherapy from the Academy of Advanced Changework (2011) and a Certificate in Psychodynamic Executive Coaching with Tavistock Consulting in London (2018), a programme accredited at Senior Practitioner level by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). Peter is a Member of the BPS Special Group in Coaching Psychology and an active, accredited mentor for the University of East London’s (UEL) Centre for Student Success.

He lives with his wife and two sons in Surrey, UK and is active in local youth football, having volunteered first as an FA qualified coach and referee and subsequently as a club Chairman for five years. In 2016, Peter was publicly recognised for his work in the community, winning the Guildford Sports Volunteer of the Year.

Dr Uwe Napiersky

Uwe is a business and organisational psychologist and an accredited executive coach, team coach and lead facilitator. He has more than 25 years’ experience of working with complex organisations in the global business arena, operating in the corporate, international consultancy and academic sectors.

Uwe is subject matter expert for Deep C’s ‘Strengthening Leadership Teams’’ line of business, utilising his practical experience of working on organisational change and transformation with senior leadership teams.

He is a pioneer of team coaching and has published on the subject in ranked academic journals. As an Associate Professor in Business Psychology, he has also conducted and applied evidence-based research in the field and has been invited as a keynote speaker on team coaching at several international conferences.

Uwe Napiersky

Uwe started his career in the German steel industry before moving into management consultancy, for firms including PA Consulting Group, Cubiks and Mannaz, the Danish Leadership Institute.

Uwe has worked as a consultant and coach for blue-chip companies across the globe in all sectors and at different management levels. Clients include: ABB, Beckman Coulter, CDK, Copenhagen Business School, DPWN, EADS, European Commission, GEA, Heineken, Jaguar/Landrover, Lavazza, Radiometer, Red Cross, Siemens, ThyssenKrupp and Videojet.

Uwe is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK and he is a key contributor to the International Coaching Federation’s (ICF) global research on team coaching competencies. He is a Member of the BPS Special Group in Coaching Psychology.

Fluent in German and English, Uwe lives with his wife and daughter in Berkshire, UK. For decades his hobby has been scuba-diving and snorkelling and he enjoys exploring the beauty and natural treasures of the underwater world (preferably in sunnier countries).
